The Junior Accountant reports directly to the Director, Finance & Administration at the Mattamy Athletic Centre. They will provide financial support, including, payroll processing, handling A/P and A/R responsibilities, and assisting with month end and budgeting. This is an entry level position that is best suited for a recent graduate, with the opportunity to grow within our accounting team in the high paced sports and live entertainment industry.
This role will pay a Hourly of $24.00 to $26.50.

This position will remain open until Dec 31, 2024.
The Mattamy Athletic Centre is a multipurpose sports and entertainment facility that is located in the former Maple Leaf Gardens. The facility consists of an arena that seats approximately 2,700 for hockey and ice events, and 4,000 for stage events. There is also a double gym that can accommodate 1,000 spectators, over 10,000 square feet of office and meeting room space, and a 7,000 square foot fitness and high performance centre.
- Provide payroll support, including but not limited to, payroll input, annual reconciliations, benefits and pension tracking and ad hoc payroll functions.
- Provide administrative / accounting support including A/P and A/R data entry, event reporting & ad-hoc projects as they arise.
- Input and reconciliation of bank deposits, A/P and A/R activities.
- Provide general office and clerical support, including supplies ordering and tracking.
- Provide support to the Director of Finance in terms of month end and annual reports.
- College/University degree with an accounting or business designation is preferred.
- Understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
- Consistent and reliable attention to detail, accuracy and validity.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, changing, environment. Must work well under pressure of deadlines.
- Ability to interact with a diverse spectrum of individuals calmly, professionally, and supportively.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
